Quick Take: The Sony RDR-VX530 is a DVD-recorder/VCR combo. Its connectivity is highlighted by a component-video output and a FireWire port. We reviewed last year's similar Sony RDR-VX515, and while we mostly liked it, we found the VHS-to-DVD recording quality to be lackluster. The Sony RDR-VX530 ($350 list) will be available in June.
