Hughes doesn't sound that much like Beck, but the comparisons are inevitable: both make an electro-tinged sort of lounge-folk, and both have deceptively rich voices. More importantly, the North Carolina artist is proving himself a humorist on par with the self-loathing "loser."

Hidden behind flowing rusty hair and a Shakespearean beard is Benji Hughes, a complex, and often funny dreamer with a harmonious voice. The singer songwriter from North Carolina subtly infuses his music with flavors and colors, evoking the numerous feelings that love brings.
