Samsung's SCH-U740 has an Alias

Samsung used CTIA to officially introduce the Samsung Alias, the upgrade to Verizon's Samsung SCH-U740. Though we're known about the phone since the beginning of this month, this is the first chance to see how it compares with its predecessor. From what we learned, the differences are minor. The Alias just has a silver color scheme and a few of the alphabetic keys on the full keyboard now are black and white to make them more identifiable as dialing buttons. So really, that's about it. You can get the Alias with Verizon Wireless for $49 with service.

I got my u740 over a year ago and I love it. It's compact, easy to text, has good graphics for the size of the screen, has good-sounding speakers for music for as tiny as they are, and I still get "cool" comments from a lot of people. My biggest complaint is that I can't blind-dial anymore -- there's just too many tiny buttons to differentiate from. I'm glad they are changing the coloring on the phone -- it might help a little. Big thumbs up for me.

I just bought the Samsung Alias and I love it. It is easy to text on although some people may find it difficult because of the small buttons. I get great battery life and i love the support for a micro SD card. Also, the camera is pretty clear at 1.5mps

I bought this phone 2 months ago and everything on it is pretty cool. The display on the Front and Main screen are great along with the camera feature although i wish it was a little better than 1.3 MP's. Texting takes around two days to get used to becasue the buttons are tiny. Also, the Voyager and EnV are enemies to this phone but sadly, they won. Again the camera: i hate the fact that it doesent have a Zoom feature and that it only has 1.3 Mp's. With a 2.0 MP Camera, i wouldnt have any problems with this phone. Over all, 8/10.
