The Pelamis from U.K.-based Ocean Power Delivery. Waves rock different sections up and down to generate the hydraulic pressure, a precursor to electricity. The company has operations in Portugal and will put more units in the water in the U.K. A device about 120 meters long (about 375 feet) can generate about 750 kilowatts. Homes use about 3 kilowatts of power each.
